Current Events - USA vs ISIS

Current Events

Apparently, research from CNN , states that Obama has “misunderstood” ISIS. Now actually, considering myself a well involved citizen of the United States, I am actually uneducated about this as much as the media. The media is not stating the correct information for NBC and CNN tend to say different things about the situation that’s going on with ISIS. I personally think Obama himself should stop sending troops into the middle east.  Supposedly our war with the middle east has ended, but apparently not because of all the conflict that is going on between us like saying who’s car is bigger than his car. I’m honestly seeing a lot of violence here. But what I’m not seeing at all, is communication. I know right? What is talking going to solve? Actually communication will most likely get us to the bottom point of our problems with the middle east. We should stop sending troops. Make tea, not war. This entire situation just reminds me of two neighborhood children fighting who’s bike is better than who’s. This is idiotic and Obama will put us in more debt, there is no doubt about it.

“You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes; you can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own,  and you know what you know. You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”

-          Dr. Seuss

Reflection:

I think what Dr. Seuss is trying to say is that you choose your own path. Similar to this quote, was created by Robert Frost “The Road Not Taken”, they both stated that you choose your own path. Every single part of your body is signaled by you, controlled by you. No other person can command you to do something you don’t want to.  It’s literally all up to you, it’s your life, your decision.

“Obedience is the great test of life.”

-          Thomas S. Monson

Reflection:

I think what Monson is trying to say that everyday you get tested for being obedient. To see if you listen to your mom, or your teacher, or your supervisor, or your boss, or whoever. That’s the greatest test ever created for everyone. That’s why you should always be obedient because that also means you choose the right. And when you choose the right, you feel good inside and if you choose the right, you maybe able to fulfill your heart’s desire or goals.

Obedience is central to becoming, being, and remaining happy.”

-          David Bednar

Reflection:

I think what David Bednar is saying is nonsense to me. I understand that if you’re obedient with some things, you’ll get what you want. Let me emphasize sometimes. This is where you need to break this statement. It actually depends on the situation that you’re in. I don’t agree with David Bednar’s statement.

Honestly, I love this profession. However, the pay is terrible for me in my opinion. I honestly love to dance, it’s like one of my favorite things to do. I’d like to be a choreographer, but if only the pay is higher.

Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush

In my opinion, I think what Reggie Bush did, was a disgrace to the NCAA. To be titled such a high title and be awarded with the greatest things ever was overrated. He didn’t deserve any of it (the fame and the fortune) because his team mates, although was working as hard as him, didn’t receive so much spotlight during their winning year. The Heisman Trophy should have never been given to Mr. Bush. This was a big shameful cloud shone over him and USC football coaches.

“Obedience sums up our entire duty”

220px-Hosea_Ballou_2.png
  • Horsea Ballou

Reflection:

I think what Horsea Ballou meant by this quote is that no matter what you do, obedience is the key. You cannot do a task without having obedience to actually complete and follow directions. Horsea Ballou was correct.

Autogenic Training

Autogenic Training

$35,000-$142,000

Education:

A degree in Autogenic Training

Reflection:

I wouldn’t want to become a Autogenic Trainer because I don’t even know how to calm myself down and reach relaxation. I think this job would be too stressful even for me because I just don’t know if the patient would be lying that they are calm or not. I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem interesting.

9/11 Memorial

September 11, 2001 Memorial

September 11, 2001. The day of death I would call it.  This day always haunted me.. The news all over the world were broadcasting the attack. It scares me to know that till this day there is still things like this going on with the world. It’s not even like as if it was a joke. The world is certainly coming to an end. Some people say this was a conspiracy because the day before the attack all the important board members of the World Trade Center was given a day off. As if they knew this was happening. I just don’t believe that the government really didn’t care of what had happened. They try to swipe it away like every single war or fight or outbreak that happens. 209 firefighters dead, 78 policemen missing, 3,000 people died in the attacks, including the 227 civilians and 19 hijackers aboard the four planes.

Reflection:

My respect and condolences goes out to the ones who have lost their loved ones on that tragic day. I remember my father always telling me stories. And the funny part was, I was actually dying when this occurred. I was being rushed to the hospital because my lungs weren’t functioning. I mean I wasn’t there when it occurred, but literally, right when the Twin Towers were hit, I immediately stopped breathing.

“The key to freedom is obedience.”

-          Boyd K. Packer

Reflection:

I think what Boyd K. Packer meant was that obedience isn’t just some ordinary words that flies off your tongue like that word ‘if’ does. Obedience is the key to freedom by showing that what you do and how you follow the command or instruction that was assigned to you, you’d be praised genuinely and maybe you’d be let off the hook first and you can do your own thing after you’re done with your task. Just like in this class! If you’re done with your work earlier, you can have free time because you obeyed the command that Mr. Haymore has instructed you to do.

Obedience

Obedience

Define “obedience”:

Obedience, in human behavior, is a form of social influence in which a person yields to explicit instructions or orders from an authority figure.

2.       The geometry teacher told the students to do their homework assignment and turn it in the following day. The students did as told.
3.       The soldier was yelled by his platoon leader to do fifty push ups and immediately, he threw himself to the and began counting.

“What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player.”

-John Wooden

I think what John Wooden meant as you are as person is that it doesn’t matter how great you play on the field or perform on the stage or how well you play on the floor, it’s all about your characteristics. It only matters if you are a CTR person and show well sportsmanship. That’s all it really matters. John Wooden is absolutely correct about this quote.

Athletic Trainer

Athletic Trainer

Your past is not your potential.”

-Marilyn Ferguson

Reflection:

I think what Marilyn is trying to say is that no matter what you did in your past, won’t matter in the future or the present as long as you try to be a better person. And your past doesn’t define you. You define you. Marilyn Ferguson had a way with words.

Anesthesiologist

Anesthesiologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal or caudal methods. Monitor patient before, during, and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications. And to coordinate administration of anesthetics with surgeons during operation.

Salary:

$350,554 (Annual Median Salary)

Education:

Even before entering college, those interested in a career in anesthesiology need to think about the kinds of classes taken in high school. Classes with a math and science concentration certainly go a long way in preparing a future anesthesiologist for success in college and medical school. They also need to attend a four-year undergraduate program and prospective anesthesiologists are required to attend four years of medical school where they generally spend the first two years building on basic sciences and the second two in clinical training.

Reflection:

I think I’d like to become an anesthesiologist. It seems like a fun job to do. I like to work with chemicals and since the patient will fall asleep easily, I think it would be a very simple task and the pay is amazing. I think I’d be qualified for this position.

Ambulance Dispatcher

Ambulance Dispatcher

Duties and Responsibilities:

Police, fire, and ambulance dispatchers, also called 9-1-1 operators or public safety telecommunicators, answer emergency and nonemergency calls. They answer 9-1-1 telephone calls. Determine the type of emergency and its location. Decide the appropriate response based on agency procedures. Relay information to the appropriate first responder agency. Coordinate the dispatch of emergency response personnel to accident scenes. Give over-the-phone medical instructions before emergency personnel arrive. Monitor and track the status of police, fire, and ambulance units. Synchronize responses with other area communication centers. Keep detailed records about calls.

Salary:

$36,300 per year  / $17.45 per hour

Education:

Most dispatchers are required to have a high school diploma. In addition, candidates must pass a written exam and a typing test. In some instances, applicants may need to pass a background check, lie detector and drug tests, as well as tests for hearing and vision. Most states require dispatchers to be U.S. citizens, and some jobs require a driver’s license. Both computer skills and customer-service skills can be helpful. Being bilingual is also a major plus for this section.

Reflection:

I think this job would suit me. I like to help people and I always manage to stay calm. Although however, a major key in this job is not to be attached to the caller. For example, if they held hostage and they die, I would feel guilty because I was their last hope to escape. I don’t think I can handle that. But then again I’m strong and I’m quick and I’m reliable with information. I think I’ll look into this more.
