Patrick's Lesson

Patrick’s Lesson

Reflection:

In the film that we just saw, I learned that we should always listen to what our parents say. They say certain things for a reason because they know better. They are more experienced than us. Patrick, however, did not listen. And that is why he got stung by a scorpion. His parents wanted to keep him from danger, but he refused to listen. His parents clearly told him do not wear sandals, but he did it anyways. His parents took him to a hospital and from that experience we all should learn not to take our parents advice for granted.

“Always do right.”

-          Mark Twain

Reflection:

I think what Mark Twain is trying to say is that you always have to choose the right. Always do the right choice. Because if you do the right action, life will repay you back with something maybe even better than what you just did. It makes you a better person. Always choose the right.

When You Tell One Lie It Leads To Another

When You Tell One Lie It Leads To Another

Lyrics by: Paul Hatch

When you tell one lie it leads to another
So you tell two lies to cover each other
Then you tell three lies and, Oh Brother,
You’re in trouble up to your ears!
So you tell four lies to try to protect you
Then you tell five lies so folks won’t suspect
You
Then you tell six lies and you’ll collect
A life filled with worries and fears
‘Cause you can’t remember how many lies
You’ve told
And half the things you say aren’t true
And  sometime you’ll slip up, you’ll trip up
And then
Whatever will become of you?
So you lie and lie without even trying
And each lie you tell will keep
Multiplying
‘Till the whole wide world will know
You’re lying
The you’ll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
Disliked
And you should!
When you lie, you’re closing the door

On everything good

“When you Tell One Lie, it leads to Another.”

-          Paul Hatch

Reflection:

I think what Paul is trying to say is that when you tell a lie to someone it will always follow you. You will always remember it. It will keep building up and up and up until you can’t hold it in anymore and you just explode and that’s why people have terrible lives, because they lie.

“The Three Questions:

1.     Can people trust me to do what’s right?

2.     Am I committed to doing my very best?

3.     Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?

If the answers to these questions are yes, there is no way you can fail”

-          Lou Holtz

Reflection:

For the most part, I have answered like two out of the three questions with a yes. The one I said no to was “am I committed to doing my very best”. I said no because I don’t give anything my 100% unless I want to and I feel like it or if it’s one of my favorite things to do. Maybe that’s way I seem to fail some things. I don’t give it my all. I think I’ll try to change that now

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness off the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”

-          President John F. Kennedy

Reflection:

John F. Kennedy had a point about physical fitness. Physical fitness is basically the ying yang of health in general. With physical fitness you’re mentally relaxed, emotionally stabled, and fit! Physical fitness keeps you feeling good about yourself and your body. It’s an obvious visual statement.
