“Our very business in life is not to get ahead of others... but to get ahead of ourselves.”

-Thomas S. Monson

Reflection:

I totally agree with Thomas S. Monson because in his head and in my head, people are always going to have something you don’t. They’re going to be better at something that you aren’t and that’s okay because it’s also vice versa. This is why we learn and become a better person by choosing the right all the time and we learn from our mistakes and that we never give up at something we are trying to better in ourselves. Thomas S. Monson has always been successful at his quotes.

Allopathic Physician (M.D.)

Allopathic Physician (M.D.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

An allopathic physician is another term for a medical doctor. Medical doctors (M.D.s) diagnose patient conditions using examinations and tests. Based on their findings, they prescribe treatment and medications to attempt to heal any illnesses or injuries. General practitioners and pediatricians have a wide range of medical knowledge and they are often the first types of doctors who patients visit. Most doctors routinely work in teams, with nurses and aides assisting them

Salary:

$180,850

Education:

While the minimum educational requirement to apply for medical school is three years of college, most applicants have at least a bachelor's degree and many have advanced degrees. They must be approved by many associations and must complete medical school. After completing medical school, graduates enter into a residency program, which is typically 3-5 years in length and during which time they select an area of medicine in which to specialize, such as pediatrics, family medicine, obstetrics or geriatrics. After completing a residency program, MDs can earn their medical license; some MDs, especially those interested in pursuing a highly specialized area of medicine, such as a specialty in psychiatry, may complete a fellowship.

Reflection:

I’d like to become an allopathic physician because it can lead up to becoming a family doctor and I really like to work with children, or families basically. The pay is fantastic and I think I’ll do a pretty fantastic job at this vocation. With what I read I think I can do this all together. I think this would honestly work out for me.

True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse.”

-Og Mandino

Reflection:

I believe what Og Mandino is saying that true wealth isn’t how many fancy Italian sports cars you own, or how much you have in the bank, or even how many houses you own. True wealth is being a CTR person. Always choosing the right. Being cooperative, spiritual, responsible, honest, and self-reliant. Always being grateful is a number one.  It really doesn’t matter how much money you have to your name, its all about you. The inner you. Og Mandino has some creative words that are well thought out. Everyone should learn from him and stay humble with no matter how much they have in life.

“Real wealth is not so much what we have as what we are.”

-Sterling W. Sill

I think what Sterling W. Sill means by this quote is that no matter how rich or famous you are it’s about what you have. It’s not about becoming a materialistic, no. It’s about appreciating the little things and the big things that you have in your life. For example, a lover, or a best friend, or a mother, or maybe even a loyal companion. Money and fame do not define you. It’s everything that you do is what counts. Sterling W. Sill reminds us to remember the little things and become a better person by doing what’s right within yourself or the community.

First Week of Sophomore Year

First Week of My Sophomore Year In HPIAM

This week so far has been great. I have my easy classes then I have my hard classes. I so far am taking AP World History, Honors English, PE, Spanish Speakers 2, New Media, Instruments A, Geometry, and finally Human Body System. This is my second year here in HPIAM and I feel very comfortable here in this school. I already know my way around the school. I know familiar faces and some new faces already. I’m taking new classes this semester and it’s exciting. I’m looking forward to the material I will learn in AP World History, too. It’s my first year ever taking an advanced placement class. I am a cheerleader here at Marquez too and it’s wonderful knowing I am a big part of the school. It’s the first week of school and we have a scrimmage game today. Sophomore year is starting well with me. I reconnected with old friends from freshman year and things are looking bright this upcoming school year. My goal is to reach a 4.0 GPA for both semesters. I already like my teachers and I have two teachers I had for freshman year, so I’m already comfortable with them and I’m familiar with their teaching skills.

I think sophomore year is starting great so far.

Education is the latchkey to success in life”

-Gordon B. Hinckley

Reflection:

This quote said by Gordon B. Hinckley means to me that education will open doors for you. No matter where you are, who you are, despite your gender and race, education will help you open doors for a better life for you and hopefully your upcoming generations. Education will help you achieve your goals and dreams if you put your mind to it and you will overcome it and become successful. This quote said by Gordon B. Hinckley is brilliant.

I would not like to be an ophthalmologist because I don’t like to learn the anatomy of the eye and I hate the eye doctor. I find no point in becoming one for I am nearly blind and I don’t really think this job will suit me because studying to become this profession isn’t something I see myself doing for the rest of my life.
