“Enthusiasm makes the difference”

-          Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

Reflection:

If you don’t have enthusiasm, then you are not giving it 100% like you normally would. I think that’s what Peale was trying to say. I agree from experiences that enthusiasm was a major key. It makes things interesting and fun. If no enthusiasm was involved, then it would be bland and no effort would be there at all.

“I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right.”

-          Dean Smith

Reflection:

I think what Dean Smith left was a legacy that was unintentional. Dean Smith is an inspiration to the NCAA and the NBA. Men like him should be here around more often. He made sure every game was a fair fight. He was a good man. He tried to do his best like any other human could do.

“It’s not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about ho          w to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.”

-          Dr. Randy Pausch

Reflection:

I absolutely love this quote. I believe in karma. I know that good things in life will happen to me if I start them first. If I’m a good person and I am a well human being who has great character. I understand bad things will happen too. That’s part of Ying and Yang. My dreams will come to me if I keep up my good character and be a good citizen and stay away from negativity. Good karma will come to me soon, I am sure of it.

“Every time I’ve done something that doesn’t feel right, it’s ended up not being right.”

-          Mario Cuomo

Reflection:

I can relate to this quote so much. Literally yesterday I was playing a quiz on Buzzfeed.com that had to see how well you know Taylor Swift. My friend Johnny and I we’re getting all the answers right except one about how many times she mentions red lipstick in one of her songs. I felt it was wrong but I chose the answer anyways  and obviously, the answer was indeed wrong.

What I Have Done Over the Winter Break

What I Have Done Over the Winter Break

I have a lot of time in my hands over the break. I realized a lot of things during the break. I have realized that I only run away from my problems and I tried my best to resolve them before 12/31. And I have completed that goal. I realized that although I have lost many, many friends over the year, I never needed them because if they we’re true friends they would have stayed. I had a lot of time to meditate. I have finally come to terms with my inner self and I am spiritually replenished. I took advantage of catching up on my sleep and I had time to hang out with my friends. I faced most of my fears over vacations. I have finally realized that I am a good person and although I may not thoroughly think through my actions, my intentions are good. Let’s just say I have changed.

“Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education”

-          Martin Luther King Jr.

Reflection:

I think what Martin Luther King Jr. is trying to say is that the true goal in life and education is to have character and intelligence within yourself. Not only will this help you emotionally, but I may even help you physically. To become successful you must have intelligence and great character.

Registered Dietitian

Reflection:

I would not like to become a dietitian because I like to eat a lot and I don’t think diets are in my vocabulary. I don’t like the pay either. I think I’d like to earn more money.
